Kiwi Giyim was founded in Gaziantep, a city whose textile roots go back centuries. What began as a local knitwear operation has grown into a fully-equipped facility running Shima Seiki and Stoll flat-knitting machines. Our next chapter is international — and we’re being selective about the brands we partner with.

Every garment passes through multiple QC checkpoints: yarn inspection, knit stage, linking stage, and final pressing. We don’t ship a piece we wouldn’t put our name on.

Our Story — Gaziantep Roots, Global Ambition
Roots in Gaziantep
Our roots go back to 2005, when the Özbakır family first entered Turkey’s knitwear industry. In 2010, Mehmet Özbakır founded Kiwi Giyim as an independent operation — building on a decade of family textile experience and the centuries-old spinning and knitting tradition of Gaziantep. Our first independent years were spent refining what we could do on our own — mill partnerships, machine calibration, and knitting the Kiwi standard.
Mastering the Craft
We invested in Shima Seiki and Stoll equipment, built a trusted network of regional sub-contractors for specialty gauges, and learned to translate designer tech packs into precise production. Our consistency earned the trust of demanding Turkish wholesale buyers.
A New Era
Now we’re opening our doors to international brands — especially growing labels in the US, UK, and Europe who want factory-direct relationships, honest communication, and minimums that fit modern collections. See recent work or how we work.
Our Facility
Our facility is located in Tekstilkent — Gaziantep's dedicated textile industrial zone. We operate Shima Seiki and Stoll flat-knitting lines, linking machines, and a full finishing department with precision steaming. Yarn sourcing, sampling, production, QC, and export packing all happen under one roof. For orders beyond our in-house 100,000 pieces/month capacity, we partner with a carefully selected network of regional sub-contractors we've worked with for years.
