A luxury knit is decided long before the first stitch is formed. Fibre fineness — measured in microns — governs softness, drape and how a garment ages, while staple length and ply decide how it resists pilling and holds its shape. We work in the premium band of each fibre and specify quality at the yarn stage, so the hand-feel a buyer approves on the sample is the hand-feel that ships in bulk.
Long, fine fibres in the region of 15–16 microns, sorted for length and colour. Finer, longer fibres pill less and hold loft — the difference between cashmere that lasts seasons and cashmere that tires after a few wears.
Typically 17.5–19.5 microns: next-to-skin soft, naturally elastic, breathable and temperature-regulating. The workhorse of refined fine-gauge knitwear, with a deep colour and ply range to draw on.
Silky, light and warm with a distinctive fluid drape and a soft sheen, selected from the finer micron grades of the clip — ideal for statement pieces and outerwear-weight knits.

Fine gauges of 12 to 14gg produce lightweight, refined fabrics with clean stitch definition, perfect for layering pieces and elevated basics; mid and chunky gauges deliver the volume and hand a statement sweater needs. We match gauge, yarn count and ply to the weight, structure and silhouette in your tech pack rather than forcing a single house standard onto every style.
Fully-fashioned shaping — widening and narrowing each panel stitch by stitch instead of cutting it from a knitted blank — keeps the loop structure intact at every edge, reduces yarn waste and gives the crisp, intentional selvedge that signals quality. It is slower and more technical than cut-and-sew, and it is the standard a premium knit is held to.
On Shima Seiki WHOLEGARMENT machines a garment is knitted complete in a single operation — body and both sleeves at once — so it leaves the machine with no side or shoulder seams to link. The result is a piece with nothing to rub against the body or break its line: an uninterrupted drape, a lighter overall weight, real freedom of movement and a clean interior that reads as luxury the instant it is handled. Because there are no cut-away panels, yarn waste is minimal — efficiency and quality pulling in the same direction. Where a design genuinely calls for traditional construction, we knit fully-fashioned panels on Stoll and Shima flat-knit machines and hand-link them; the method follows the garment, never the other way around.

Panels or complete seamless garments knitted on WHOLEGARMENT, Stoll and Shima flat-knit machines at the agreed gauge, with stitch density checked against the approved sample.
Where pieces are constructed from panels, they are joined loop-to-loop by hand for a flat, low-bulk seam; ends are secured and any dropped stitch corrected by hand.
Each garment is steamed and blocked to its measurement chart so dimensions, drape and handle are stable, even and repeatable across the run.
Measurement, shade, stitch density and overall appearance are checked against the approved sample before each piece is folded, labelled and packed under your brand.
