Certified Yarn Options — What We Source and Why It Matters

Fibre Certifications

  • GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard): Certified-organic fibres — organic cotton, organic merino. The GOTS certificate comes from our yarn supplier; we pass it through with a traceable lot reference. Best for US brands positioning around pesticide-free and soil health.
  • GRS (Global Recycled Standard): Recycled polyester, recycled nylon and recycled acrylic yarns — content verified post-consumer or post-industrial. GRS chain-of-custody documentation from yarn source to your order. Best for brands building a recycled-fibre story without compromising knit quality.
  • OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100: Every component of the finished garment tested for harmful substances — yarn, thread, label. Available on most yarns we source. Best for any brand selling into retailers that require substance compliance documentation.
  • BCI (Better Cotton Initiative): Conventional cotton grown under improved farming practices — mass-balance traceability. Lower price premium than GOTS, credible for brands that want responsible cotton without full-organic positioning.

Construction Impact

  • Knit-to-shape (fully-fashioned): Each garment panel is knitted to the finished shape — no cut-and-sew waste from large blanks. Yarn utilisation runs 10–15% higher than equivalent cut-and-sew knitwear.
  • WHOLEGARMENT (Shima Seiki): The entire garment knitted as one seamless piece — body, sleeves and collar in a single machine cycle, with essentially zero cutting waste. Available from 5gg upward in most natural fibres.
  • Undyed and natural-colour options: Avoid the wastewater load of piece-dyeing. For brands that want a low-intervention colour story, undyed and yarn-dyed options are available across merino, alpaca and cotton styles.
  • Short runs, less deadstock: Our 250-piece MOQ means you order closer to demand — less unsold inventory. For a brand making a sustainability claim, overproduction is the largest single impact to reduce.

Traceability: What You Can Document

A sustainability claim is only as good as the documentation behind it. Here is what we provide for every order:

Yarn certificate: Supplier-issued GOTS, GRS or OEKO-TEX certificate for the specific lot used in your order — with transaction certificate number for GOTS/GRS chain-of-custody, usable directly in retailer supplier questionnaires.

Single-site traceability: One factory in Gaziantep handles knitting, linking, finishing and QC. No subcontracted processes — we produce a single-facility supply chain map for your sustainability report or brand transparency page.

UFLPA-clean cotton: Non-Xinjiang cotton certification for styles with cotton content — supplier attestation with origin documentation, passed to you for US Customs clearance and retailer compliance.

FTC fibre content labeling: Exact fibre percentages, certified organic or recycled content designation and country of origin — permanent label applied in-house before export, in compliance with FTC Textile Labeling rules.

"Made in Turkey" origin: Turkey carries no Chinese-origin designation or UFLPA cotton risk. Your garment is made in Turkey and labelled as such — clean for US retail buyers running supplier questionnaires.

For US Brands With Sustainability Commitments

US brands entering sustainable retail — whether a boutique with a circular focus, a DTC brand with a B Corp application, or a contemporary label adding a responsible-fibre capsule — typically need three things from a manufacturer: certified raw materials, traceable process and honest documentation. We cover all three without inflating the claim.

We do not hold facility-level GOTS or GRS certification ourselves — that would require third-party audit of our entire facility scope. We source certified yarns and pass supplier certificates through in full. If your retailer or certification body requires facility-level scope, we will tell you upfront and help you assess whether yarn-level certification satisfies their standard. No false claims.
