Founded in 2010 by Mehmet Özbakır — Shima Seiki and Stoll-trained, hands-on in flat-knit ever since. For Canadian brands building a China+1 supply chain, Turkey brings Western-grade quality and a clean, traceable origin you can document for Bill S-211 reporting — with ~4–5 week ocean transit to Montreal and Halifax. Capability and ethics over lowest-cost commodity volume.
Kiwi Giyim does not hold facility-level certifications — we source certified yarns from accredited suppliers and produce to your target market's requirements, passing the supplier's certificates and traceability to you.
You work directly with Mehmet Özbakır — no agencies, no middlemen, no markup. Faster decisions, transparent pricing, and a single accountable contact from sample to shipment.
Knit-to-shape technology (WHOLEGARMENT & fully-fashioned) means minimal fabric waste per garment. GOTS organic cotton, GRS recycled yarns and OEKO-TEX-certified yarns sourced from accredited suppliers — available on all orders.
Ocean freight from Mersin/İskenderun reaches Montreal and Halifax in roughly 4–5 weeks, on FOB or DDP terms priced in CAD, with full customs documentation. Vancouver and air freight available on request.

Searching for a clothing manufacturer for your Canadian brand's knit range — sweaters, cardigans, toques and intarsia knitwear? Here's where we fit, honestly. We're a flat-knit specialist that supplies Canadian brands from our own factory in Gaziantep, Turkey — not a Toronto or Montreal cut-and-sew house, and we don't claim to be. For the knitwear part of your collection we're a dedicated manufacturer: 250-piece MOQ, WHOLEGARMENT and fully-fashioned knitting, intarsia and jacquard, export quality. One honest note — Canada has no free-trade agreement with Turkey, so standard import duties plus GST/HST apply; we compete on knit specialism, quality and reliability, not on duty.
FAQ
We're a knitwear manufacturer in the true sense. We knit each garment to shape on Shima Seiki WHOLEGARMENT and Stoll flat-knitting machines, so pieces like sweaters, cardigans, pullovers, vests and knit dresses are fully fashioned rather than cut from woven cloth. We're not a cut-and-sew sewing workshop, so if your program calls for tailored shirts or woven pieces, that's simply not what we do.
We supply finished garments, ready to label and ship. We don't sell knit fabric or yarn by the metre, and we're not a yarn or textile wholesaler. You come to us for completed knitwear, produced to your specs and quality standard.
Yes, we're set up for smaller programs. Our minimum is 250 pieces per colour and style. That makes us a practical fit for Canadian brands testing a line, refreshing a seasonal range, or scaling up gradually.
To be straight with you, Canada has no free-trade agreement with Turkey, so there's no A.TR or duty-free entry to claim. Standard MFN import duties apply on knitwear, on top of GST/HST and normal customs clearance costs. We'd recommend confirming the exact tariff classification and landed cost with a licensed Canadian customs broker before you commit, so there are no surprises.
We work strictly as an OEM and private-label partner, producing under your own label to your designs and specs. We don't sell a competing house brand of our own, so your name is the only one on the garment. Whatever we knit for you stays yours.
We're based in Gaziantep, Turkey, and have been knitting since 2010. To be upfront, we're not a domestic Canadian factory, so if you specifically need Made-in-Canada production, that's honestly not us. If you're after a competitive flat-knit specialist with a 250-piece minimum and are comfortable importing, we're a strong fit.
