We source from European spinners — predominantly Italian and Portuguese mills — with full fibre origin records, which matters when a Ugandan brand wants documented provenance for an export or upper-tier line.
At 5–7gg in a kid mohair-silk, the finished cardigan reads premium and carries the highest margin per unit in a knitwear collection. Türkiye has no free-trade agreement with Uganda, so Turkish-made knitwear sits under the same East African Community Common External Tariff (EAC CET) as Chinese-made knitwear — the 25% apparel duty band, plus 18% VAT on the duty-inclusive value, applied by URA at clearance. Uganda is landlocked, so there is no domestic seaport. Goods route via a transit port — Mombasa on the Northern Corridor or Dar es Salaam on the Central Corridor — and then inland by road to Kampala. The EAC Single Customs Territory (SCT) clears the consignment once at the first point of entry, which avoids a duplicate border process, but inland haulage is a real additional cost on top of ocean freight. Realistic door-to-Kampala timing is roughly 3–4 weeks.
