A 10–15% allowance is typical for flat knitwear — it covers linking and cut loss, machine set-up ends, sample and test pieces, and rejects. This tool defaults to 10%; replace it with your own factory's historical loss figure once you have it. Complex stitches and small runs sit at the higher end.
